World War I - April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918
World War II - December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946
Korean War - June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955
Vietnam War - February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975
Lebanon/Grenada - August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984
Panama - December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990
Gulf War/War on Terrorism - August 2, 1990 to today.
Any Veteran who served in the Armed Forces and received an Honorable Discharge can join with only a copy of your DD214 form.
FIRST YEAR DUES ARE ON US. Membership is $50.00 per year.

What Does the Legion Do?
The Robert I Nickerson Post is one of the most active Posts in the State of Massachusetts. We are also active in Quincy and the Community.
We:
Award four scholarships to the High School Seniors from the community.
Sponsor two Candidates to the American Legion "Boys State" and the Auxiliaries "Girls State."
Present Student Awards to the Squantum Elementary, Atlantic Middle and North Quincy High Schools.
Sponsor a Candidate to the "Student Trooper" program.
Lay wreaths on Memorial Day.
Sponsor a Bingo night at the West Roxbury Veterans Hospital for the patients.
Participate in the Squantum 4th of July festivties.
Collect toiletries and goodies for the Troops serving overseas.
Send out Care Packages.
Donate to the Squantum Youth Baseball and Softball programs.
Donate to Quincy Youth Hockey.
Donate to the Squantum Storm of the Quincy Football league.
Participate in Veteran's Memorials and Services throughout Quincy.
March in Parades.
Participate and collect "Toys for Tots."
Sponsor an annual cookout for the Shriners Hospital.
Maintain the Gilbert Memorial Park in Squantum.
Open our hall to the Seaside Gardeners Club.
Open and donate our hall to residents for post funeral services.
Host fundraisers for people who are going through tough times or in need of assistance.
Send delegates to the Department (State) Convention.
Again have a great membership with good people.
